In rapid xiangqi, Huynh also lost only one game to champion Manh Phon Due. The blitz event was similar, with Doan Thang claiming the gold medal with 16 points from 7 wins, two draws, and no losses.
Wang Yubai secured the silver medal in blitz xiangqi with 15 points. Meanwhile, Phon Due finished fifth with 13 points.
Vietnamese representatives Ha Van Tien and Phan Nguyen Cong Minh tied with Phon Due in points but ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, due to lower tie-break scores than the Trung Quoc prodigy. Vo Minh Nhat placed ninth (12 points), Ton That Nhat Tan 12th, and Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang 14th (both with 11 points).
All six xiangqi medals awarded at the Games went to Trung Quoc players, distributed as follows:
| Medal | Rapid Xiangqi | Blitz Xiangqi |
| Gold | Manh Phon Due | Doan Thang |
| Silver | Wang Yubai | Wang Yubai |
| Bronze | Doan Thang | Wang Jiathui |
The xiangqi event at the 2025 Asian Intellectual Games did not include the standard chess format, also known as slow chess. At the world championship in late September 2025, Lai Ly Huynh surpassed Phon Due and Doan Thang to win his first title, entirely due to his performance in standard chess.
