Indonesia and Thailand will face off at 8 p.m. on Friday, 25/7.
In an article titled "Indonesia - Thailand: battle of Southeast Asian kings," the leading Indonesian news outlet anticipates an exciting match with a packed Bung Karno Stadium.
"Thai midfielder Seksan Ratree once expressed his desire to play in a large stadium filled with spectators, and his dream is about to come true," the article states. "The passionate Indonesian fans could pressure the home team, but also motivate Gerald Vanenburg's players to give more than 100% effort."

In the group stage, Indonesia defeated Brunei and the Philippines, then drew with Malaysia. Thailand beat Timor-Leste but were held to a draw by Myanmar. "Based on Thailand's two group stage matches, Indonesia will certainly win," the article asserts. "Thawatchai Damrong-Ongtrakul's team didn't play like true war elephants. Thailand's ball control was even worse than Timor-Leste's. Myanmar also played more calmly and powerfully than Thailand."
However, the publication also acknowledged that Indonesia's performance wasn't exceptional. "The Philippines demonstrated this by dominating the hosts, only losing 0-1. Malaysia also silenced Kadek Arel and his teammates," the article continues. "Nevertheless, Indonesia's level is still higher than Thailand's."
Indonesia entered the tournament with only one foreign-born player, the 1.89m tall forward Jens Raven. He scored six goals against Brunei in the opening match and is almost certain to win the Golden Boot.
Indonesian media consider Seksan to be Thailand's most dangerous player. He is the captain and the only player in the squad who has started for the national team. Seksan also played in the AFC Champions League two years ago, a tournament no Indonesian U23 player has participated in. "Seksan's individual technique and tactical vision are also impressive," the article adds. "He also possesses the physical strength and endurance characteristic of Thai players."
Indonesia's key playmaker, midfielder Arkhan Fikri, is unable to play due to a serious injury. However, the home team's publication suggests that winger Althaf Indie, with his remarkable speed, will pose a challenge to Thailand's slower full-backs.
The winner of this match will face either Vietnam or the Philippines in the final on the evening of 29/7. The losing team will play in the third-place match on the evening of 28/7.
