Coach Enrique goes shirtless during PSG training

Due to the hot weather, coach Luis Enrique took his shirt off while instructing players during a PSG training session on 7/7, before the match against Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 semi-final.

Many clubs have complained about the playing conditions in the US, especially matches starting midday or early afternoon with temperatures above 30 degrees. Dortmund players avoided the heat in the locker room, Chelsea had to cancel training, and coach Pep Guardiola had to change Man City's tactics and lineup.

This is why Enrique took his shirt off during PSG's final training session in Atlanta, Georgia on 7/7. The Spanish coach also went without shoes, rolled up his trousers, and wore a black cap as he urged his players to train.

Enrique, holding a ball, gave specific instructions to his players. Achraf Hakimi and Joao Neves were the two players closest to him, listening attentively to their coach's guidance.

Enrique has managed PSG since 2023 and just completed a historic season. He built a three-pronged attack with sharp transitions. This style of play helped PSG sweep all titles, winning Ligue 1, the French Cup, the French Super Cup, and their first Champions League title.

The Spanish coach is now aiming for a fifth title. At the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, PSG beat Atletico 4-0, lost to Botafogo 0-1, and beat Seattle Sounders 2-0 in the group stage. They then defeated Inter Miami 4-0 in the round of 16 and Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarter-finals.

Enrique was also a prominent name during his playing career. He played for both Real Madrid and Barca, and represented Spain in three World Cups (1994, 1998, and 2002) and Euro 1996. He was also a member of the Spanish team that won the 1992 Olympic gold medal in Barcelona.

During the training session on 7/7, Enrique showed he still had some skills with the ball, enjoying some relaxing moments. *AS* commented that Enrique still maintains a toned physique at 55.

On 8/7, PSG traveled to New York to prepare for their match against Real Madrid at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, 8 km west of New York City. There, Ousmane Dembele (pictured) and his teammates had a light training session at Rutgers University.

After a light workout in the gym, the PSG players continued their training on the pitch to maintain their feel for the ball. The whole team maintained a positive attitude throughout the session.

PSG are facing defensive issues with two defenders, Lucas Hernandez and Willian Pacho, suspended. Both players received straight red cards in the 2-0 quarter-final win over Bayern Munich.

In the pre-match press conference, Kvaratskhelia praised Kylian Mbappe as a top player. However, he also emphasized that PSG need to be wary of Real's new playing style under new coach Xabi Alonso.

"We respect all of their players because they are a strong team," the 24-year-old forward said. "Real has many outstanding individuals, but I think they are a strong unit, not just a group of good players. But the most important thing is the team's tactics and the performance of the whole team. Therefore, we respect them and will compete against every opponent."

PSG finishing practice. The PSG-Real match will take place at 2 a.m. on Thursday, 10/8, Hanoi time, at Metlife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey.
