The Vietnam U23 team has one more day of preparation before their crucial opening match in group A of the AFC U23 Asian Cup against Jordan tomorrow. Following this, they will face Kyrgyzstan on 9/1 and Arab Saudi on 12/1.
The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 finals feature 16 teams, divided into four groups. Teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the four group winners and four runners-up advancing to the quarterfinals. This year's tournament does not serve as a qualifier for the Olympic 2028.
Vietnam's best performance in the tournament was reaching the final as runner-up in 2018. Arab Saudi were champions in 2022, while Jordan secured third place in 2013. This marks Kyrgyzstan's first appearance in the competition.
