"One month of us, until death do us part," Rute wrote on Instagram yesterday. "Forever together, my white girl."
Rute's post included three photos. The first was a close-up of Diogo Jota and Rute holding hands during the wedding ceremony, both wearing rings. The other two photos captured the couple dancing at their wedding on 22/6/2025.

This is Rute's first post since Diogo Jota's death in a traffic accident in Spain on 3/7/2025, 11 days after their wedding. The late footballer's supercar suffered a tire blowout while overtaking another vehicle on the highway, causing it to roll over and catch fire. Both occupants of the car, Diogo Jota and his younger brother Andre Silva, were killed.
Rute was later taken to the morgue to identify her husband's body. She was unable to stand unassisted as she left.
Diogo Jota and Rute, both 28, met in high school. They have three children: 4-year-old Dinis, 2-year-old Duarte, and 8-month-old Mafalda. Diogo Jota's death came at the peak of his career, having just won the Premier League with Liverpool and the UEFA Nations League with Portugal.
The funerals of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva were attended by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Prime Minister Luis Montenegro. Liverpool has decided to retire the number 20 jersey in memory of Diogo Jota.
