Madam Pang condemns Thai player's attack on referee

The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president, Madam Pang, has ordered strict action against Paramachot Duangmit, the player who assaulted referee Siwakorn Singthana on 3/8.

During a Pang Aai Open Cup match on 3/8, Paramachot, playing for Ueang Fah A, delivered a high kick to an opponent from Creative FC. Referee Siwakorn Singthana immediately issued a red card. Paramachot reacted by punching the referee twice in the face and then, despite attempts by other players to intervene, chased after him and continued the assault.

Siwakorn was taken to the hospital with facial bruising and reported the incident to the police. Paramachot deactivated his social media accounts and fled.

Siwakorn is a member of the FAT referee committee and officiates in Thai-League 3, part of Thailand's professional football system. Madam Pang has directed the FAT to cover all of Siwakorn's medical expenses.

"All forms of violence, both on and off the field, are reprehensible. Players who engage in such behavior will face severe consequences," the FAT president told Siamsport. "I do not want to see similar violent incidents recurring on Thai football pitches."

Violent acts that damage the image of Thai football typically result in substantial penalties, including suspensions of two to four matches and fines ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 baht (1,170 to 1,750 USD).

On-field violence in Thailand has seen an increase in recent years. In 2/2025, Songkran Puangnoi was dismissed by his club, Hua Hin City, after attacking a referee and an opponent during a Thai League 3 match against Rajpracha.

At the 2023 SEA Games 32 final in Cambodia, players and coaching staff from the Thailand U23 team clashed with Indonesian players, resulting in numerous sanctions.

The 59-year-old Madam Pang, whose real name is Nualphan Lamsam, has been a prominent figure in Thai football for nearly a decade. She managed the Thailand women's national team at the 2015 and 2019 World Cups and later led the men's team to victory in the 2020 and 2022 AFF Cups. In 2/2024, she became the first woman elected as FAT president.

Madam Pang is also a businesswoman and the president of Muang Thai Insurance. She comes from a wealthy and influential Thai family and is known for her fashion sense, makeup, and beauty regimen. Her Instagram account has over 841,000 followers, including thousands from Vietnam.
