The 32-year-old revealed that Man Utd's management rejected all approaches from other clubs regarding his situation. The "Red Devils" also activated a one-year extension clause, keeping him until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
"The club made it clear I couldn't leave this summer, even though some teams inquired about my contract and situation," Maguire told the Times. "In the next few months, we'll sit down and discuss the future, see if they want to extend further. But Man Utd is a great club, it would be crazy to want to leave as soon as possible."

Maguire didn't start in the 1-0 loss to Arsenal last weekend, as manager Ruben Amorim opted for Matthijs de Ligt. He came on in the 80th minute, replacing Luke Shaw, and played as a forward towards the end of the match, utilizing his heading ability.
The former Man Utd captain seemed calm about his playing opportunities this season. "I'm sure I'll start many games," he emphasized. "The squad is very competitive now, and every position has quality players. That's a positive sign for the team."
Maguire said the Man Utd dressing room remains optimistic despite the opening defeat. He praised the changes under manager Amorim and director of football Jason Wilcox. "I feel the team is heading in the right direction. Six years ago, when I first arrived, the club's management system wasn't like it is now. Now things are completely different, much better," he added.
Maguire is eager to play so he can participate in the 2026 World Cup next summer. However, this season, Man Utd is not playing in any European Cups, so the 32-year-old center-back's playing time may decrease. From 1/2026, he will be free to negotiate with new clubs.
In their next match, Man Utd will visit Fulham on 24/8, determined to win their first game of the new season. In the last eight games at Craven Cottage, the "Red Devils" have won every time.
