According to The Athletic, Man Utd will pay the aforementioned sum in 4 installments to Brentford. The fee could rise to $95 million depending on Mbeumo's performance at Old Trafford. The two clubs have been in discussions for several weeks, with the "Red Devils" submitting three official offers. Brentford accepted the third offer.
A personal agreement between Mbeumo and Man Utd was reached several weeks ago. The French forward declined offers from Tottenham, Newcastle, and Arsenal, expressing his sole desire to join Man Utd. The contract between the two parties is nearing completion, making the 25-year-old forward manager Ruben Amorim's second signing of the summer 2025 transfer window, following Matheus Cunha.

Mbeumo developed in the Troyes academy in France before joining Brentford in 2019 for a then club-record fee of $8 million. He played a key role in the team's promotion during the 2020-2021 season. After scoring fewer than 10 goals in his first three Premier League seasons, Mbeumo had a breakout year last season, netting 20 goals in 38 matches. The last Man Utd player to score 20 goals in a Premier League season was Robin van Persie in 2012-2013.
