According to the British newspaper Sportmail, three English Premier League clubs and two Serie A teams approached Maguire, but all were rejected by Man Utd. The identities of the five clubs have not been revealed.
This move suggests that the Manchester club still wants to keep the 32-year-old defender, although they haven't opened contract extension talks yet.

Despite Man Utd's firm stance, Maguire continues to attract interest from several European clubs. His two former Man Utd managers, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, currently managing Fenerbahce and Besiktas respectively, are reportedly ready to welcome Maguire to Turkey. Galatasaray has also expressed interest.
In addition, Monaco and Marseille are closely monitoring the situation, as Maguire could be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England from 1/2026 if he doesn't reach a new agreement with Man Utd.
However, Maguire currently wants to stay and solidify his place at Man Utd. The English center-back's contract runs until 2026, with a weekly salary of over 250,000 USD. He reportedly wants to follow in the footsteps of club legends like Denis Irwin, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, and Bryan Robson, all of whom enjoyed long and successful careers, earning the respect of Man Utd fans.
In 2019, Man Utd signed Maguire from Leicester for a fee of 96 million USD, a record for a defender at the time. However, the Englishman hasn't lived up to expectations, was stripped of the captaincy by former manager Erik ten Hag, and nearly left Old Trafford in the summer of 2023.

Maguire has been resurgent since Ruben Amorim took over at Old Trafford. The 32-year-old has performed consistently and has even been deployed as a striker in some tight matches by the Portuguese manager, thanks to his aerial prowess.
Last season, Maguire scored 4 crucial goals across all competitions. The first was the winner in a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town in the 27th round of the Premier League. Next was the equalizer in a 3-3 draw against Porto in the second leg of the Europa League. He then scored a late header, albeit from an offside position, in a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Most memorably, the 32-year-old scored a header in the second minute of extra time, helping Man Utd complete a 5-4 comeback win against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-final second leg.
