This summer, manager Ruben Amorim revamped his attack by signing Matheus Cunha (85 million USD from Wolves), Bryan Mbeumo (95 million USD from Brentford) and Benjamin Sesko (99 million USD from Leipzig). Meanwhile, Man Utd loaned Marcus Rashford to Barca and are seeking buyers for Rasmus Hojlund, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.

Despite the 250 million USD investment, former Aston Villa and England striker Agbonlahor ranks Man Utd's attack seventh in the Premier League.
He lists six superior attacks: Liverpool (Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo), Arsenal (Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Viktor Gyokeres), Man City (Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush, Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki), Chelsea (Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez), Newcastle (Anthony Gordon, Anthony Elanga, Alexander Isak) and Aston Villa (Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, Jacob Ramsey, Evann Guessand).
Former Scotland striker Ally McCoist believes the Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko trio will elevate Man Utd's attack. Their combined 48 goals in the Premier League and Bundesliga last season (Cunha 15, Mbeumo 20, Sesko 13) surpasses Man Utd's entire squad's 44 domestic goals in 2024-2025.
However, McCoist worries about Man Utd's midfield pace and defense against strong opponents. "I think the attack is very good now, scoring lots of goals. But the midfield lacks pace, which will be problematic against top teams," the 62-year-old told talkSPORT Breakfast.
Man Utd's spending spree comes amid cost-cutting measures, including staff layoffs and eliminating free employee lunches. These moves reportedly saved Old Trafford between 11 and 13 million USD.
Alan Pardew, former manager of West Ham, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace, believes INEOS's management could have handled the situation more sensitively. "They've hurt a lot of people, and I don't think the way they did it was particularly soothing or understanding towards those involved," he said.
Manager Amorim overhauled the squad after Man Utd's worst Premier League finish and failure to qualify for the Champions League. They begin the new season against Arsenal on 17/8.
