The press conference took place at the team's base in Zapopan, near Guadalajara, Mexico, on 28/6. As Vice President of the Korea Football Association (KFA) responsible for the national team, Park Hang-seo was the first to address the media.
"On behalf of the federation, I extend our deepest apologies for failing to meet public expectations at the 2026 World Cup", Park stated. "The team members made every effort to prepare for the tournament, but the results did not reflect the fans' unwavering support."
South Korea was in Group A, first defeating the Czech Republic 2-1, then losing 0-1 to co-hosts Mexico and South Africa. The "Taegeuk Warriors" finished third in their group, leading to their elimination, and ended the tournament in 34th place among 48 teams.
