The 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship, held in Indonesia from 15/7 to 29/7, features all 10 teams divided into three groups. Group A consists of Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei. Group B includes Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Group C comprises Thailand, Myanmar, and Timor Leste.
Vietnam defeated the Philippines 2-1 in the semifinals. In the other semifinal, Indonesia triumphed over Thailand 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Consequently, Vietnam will face Indonesia in the final at Bung Karno Stadium at 8 p.m. on Tuesday the 29th of July.
The Philippines will play Thailand for third place at 8 p.m. on Monday the 28th of July, also at Bung Karno Stadium. This is the Philippines' first appearance in a U23 regional semifinal, and they are aiming for their first medal. Even with a victory in this match, Thailand will still consider the 2025 U23 Southeast Asia Championship a disappointment.
