Real Madrid announced a mutual parting of ways with coach Xabi Alonso on the evening of 12/1, following over 6 months of collaboration.

"Xabi Alonso will always receive the love and admiration from Real fans, because he is a club legend and represents the club's values. Real Madrid will always be his home," read the announcement on Real's official website. "The club thanks Xabi Alonso and his assistant staff for their work and dedication during their time here. We wish everyone the best in their new journey."
