Sinner has won four majors in 23 appearances, one fewer than Alcaraz, who has played in 18 Grand Slams. Sinner has the edge in the ATP Finals, having won the title in 2024, while Alcaraz has yet to win it after two appearances. This year, Alcaraz is the first player to qualify for the November ATP Finals.
At the Masters 1000 level, Alcaraz has won seven titles in 30 tournaments, while Sinner has four titles from 34 appearances. Overall, Sinner has nine big titles from 59 tournaments, averaging a title every 6.6 tournaments. Alcaraz has 12 titles from 51 tournaments, averaging a title every 4.3 tournaments.
The ATP uses "big titles" to refer to championships in Grand Slams, the ATP Finals, Masters 1000 events, and the Olympics. Novak Djokovic leads this statistic with 72 titles and is the only player to have won every big title. Rafael Nadal is second with 59 titles, having never won the ATP Finals, while Roger Federer has 54 titles and has not won an Olympic gold medal.

At their current rate, Sinner and Alcaraz would need to maintain their performance for decades to catch the "Big 3," let alone surpass Djokovic's impressive record. The Serbian player has won at least one big title in 16 of the last 18 seasons. Djokovic's 72nd title came at the Paris Olympics last year, defeating Alcaraz in the final.
By comparison, Djokovic has won a big title every 3.1 tournaments—twice as frequently as Sinner, despite the Italian being currently ranked number one and considered the most consistent player on the ATP Tour for the past two years. Nadal averages a big title every 3.5 tournaments, and even Federer, at 4.4, matches Alcaraz and outperforms Sinner.
"Sinner and Alcaraz clearly have many years to chase the Big 3. Right now, they are not at that level," Sinner's coach Darren Cahill said after the Wimbledon final on 13/7, where his student defeated Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
