Sinner vs. Shelton: 9 p.m. today 9/7, Hanoi time.
Sinner was reportedly awaiting MRI results during his scheduled practice time. The Italian player then went to an indoor hard court facility to hit for about 20 minutes to test his elbow.
The injury occurred in the first game of the fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov when Sinner fell. After this incident, the world number one continued to play but struggled. He was almost eliminated when Dimitrov took a two-set lead. Fortunately for Sinner, his opponent suffered a severe injury and retired at the beginning of the third set. Dimitrov is expected to be out until the US Open due to a torn pectoral muscle.

"Sinner's ball speed dropped by about 10 km/h," coach Darren Cahill said about his pupil's condition during the match with Dimitrov. "Of course, that wasn't the main reason Sinner lost two sets. Dimitrov played very well, completely outclassed him, and we have to give him credit."
Sinner arrived at Wimbledon without his personal therapist after dismissing Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio. He hired ATP Tour physiotherapists who are working at Wimbledon.
"There are very good doctors here, and they can handle any case," Sinner said. According to coach Cahill, Sinner's practicing on a hard court on the evening of 8/7 was not unusual, as the ball bounces more evenly on a hard court than on grass, minimizing risk. In the past, legend Andre Agassi did this when attending Wimbledon.
Sinner will play his quarterfinal match against 10th seed Ben Shelton on Court number 1, leaving Centre Court for Novak Djokovic, who will face young talent Flavio Cobolli in the other quarterfinal. The first semifinal has been determined, with Carlos Alcaraz facing Taylor Fritz.
