Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos cancelled their wedding one month before the scheduled date, following what sources describe as irreconcilable differences. The couple had planned a lavish ceremony for 10/4 at Lake Como, Italy, with approximately 250 guests.

Initially, rumors circulated that a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement (prenup) was the primary cause of the split. A prenup is a legal document signed before marriage, outlining the division of assets, financial obligations, or benefits if the marriage ends. Such agreements are common in the US, particularly for high-net-worth individuals or high earners like professional athletes.
Prescott's substantial wealth made a prenup a likely consideration. According to Forbes statistics, as of 5/2025, he was the 4th highest-earning athlete globally, with an annual income of approximately 137 million USD. Of this, 127 million USD came from his salary and performance bonuses, and about 10 million USD from endorsement deals. In 9/2024, Prescott signed a record-breaking four-year contract extension worth 240 million USD with the Dallas Cowboys, establishing him as one of the highest-paid football players in the National Football League (NFL).
However, Sarah Jane Ramos publicly refuted the prenup rumors on Instagram. She commented on a video from the Speakeasy program, where hosts Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy discussed prenuptial agreements, specifically mentioning rumors that Prescott had pushed for a "stringent" prenup while Sarah refused to sign. Sarah stated, "This has nothing to do with a prenup. I hope that rumor can end". Prescott has yet to issue an official comment on the rumors.

Journalist Robert Littal of BSO reported that Prescott and Sarah experienced heated arguments during their joint bachelor/bachelorette party in the Bahamas, which led to the wedding cancellation. Their relationship reportedly faced numerous issues for several months, including frequent disagreements, trust issues, and even suspicions of infidelity. Littal noted that at the party, as more alcohol was consumed, certain remarks caused conflicts to escalate to an irreconcilable point.
Prescott and Sarah have two daughters: Margaret Jane Rose (2 years old) and Aurora Rayne (9 months old). The couple began dating in 9/2023, got engaged in 10/2024, and planned their wedding at Lake Como. An email was sent to approximately 250 guests before 10/4, officially announcing the cancellation. "It is with heavy hearts that we must privately inform our guests that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your prayers", the announcement, signed by both Prescott and Sarah, read.

Shortly after the breakup was announced, Sarah posted on social media, reportedly reflecting the difficult period she was experiencing. The post included a series of photos from her bachelorette trip to the Bahamas, where she appeared with close friends in matching swimwear. In the caption, she emphasized the role of friendship and emotional support during challenging times. "I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have amazing friends by your side. I love these girls so much", Sarah wrote. Although she did not directly mention the breakup with Prescott, many followers believed this message indicated she was relying on friends to overcome the emotional shock.
According to sources from TMZ Sports, the decision to separate came after months of the couple experiencing personal difficulties. The report also stated that both are now shifting their focus to co-parenting their children. Ramos and Sarah are expected to prioritize co-parenting their two daughters after officially going their separate ways.
