This gold medal underscores the strength of Vietnam's women's sepak takraw at this year's games. Throughout the tournament, the team displayed impressive form. They successively defeated India, Thailand, and the Philippines in the group stage with identical two-zero scores. They then overcame host Japan in the semifinals before once again prevailing over Thailand in the final.
This marks the second sepak takraw gold medal at ASIAD 2026. On 29/9, the trio Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Le Thi Hong Lien, and Nguyen Thi Khanh Ly secured the women's doubles title, defeating the Philippines in their final match.
