Vietnam to host professional equestrian competition

The Vinpearl Equestrian Cup 2025, taking place in November, will bring an international equestrian competition model to Vietnamese sports enthusiasts, with billions of Vietnamese dong in prizes.

The competition will be held from 21-23/11 at the Vinpearl Vu Yen Equestrian Academy (Hai Phong). This marks the first time Vietnam has hosted a professional equestrian competition of international scale, adhering to the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) standards for competition, scoring, and infrastructure.

The tournament will bring together domestic and international athletes, divided into three categories: Children, Amateur, and Professional. Competitions will range from basic horse handling to show jumping with heights from 90 to 115 cm. The total prize value amounts to billions of Vietnamese dong, including cash, gifts, and intensive training courses, with special awards for talented athletes pursuing a professional career.

A highlight of the competition is the participation of international judges from the FEI, ensuring fairness and expertise. According to the organizers, this is an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to experience an international competition environment, while also bringing equestrian sports closer to the public.

All competitions will take place at the Vinpearl Vu Yen Equestrian Academy, located in the Vinhomes Royal Island megacity. The facility boasts over 150 horse stables, multi-level training grounds, a horse show arena, and a large-scale horse care and training ecosystem. Several rare horse breeds such as Akhal Teke, Friesian, and Warmblood are also being trained here for the first time.

In addition to its role as a training center, the academy also offers entertainment activities, horse riding experiences, and horse shows for visitors. It regularly hosts specialized seminars on horse care and veterinary medicine, aiming to build an equestrian community in Vietnam.

The Vinpearl Equestrian Cup is part of Vingroup's long-term development strategy in equestrian sports. The company hopes the tournament will become a platform to transform this historically elite sport into a more accessible artistic and athletic activity within the country.
