VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang medal creates buzz with its unique design

The medal for the 2025 VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang has been praised by many runners for its distinctive design, evoking local specialties like sea snails and ice cream cones.

Immediately after its unveiling, the image of the 2025 VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang medal received hundreds of comments on social media. Most praised the innovation in its shape, color, and concept.

"It's so beautiful, I'll have to run to get two," wrote Xuan Si Nha Trang. "Beautiful, I'm getting ready to bring it home," commented Mai An Tiem.

Many associated the spiral design on the jade green background with oc huong (fragrant snails) or ice cream cones, familiar specialties of the coastal city. Under the posts, runners expressed their amusement and excitement about this creative approach.

"It reminds me of oc huong," commented Nguyen Hung. "It looks like an ice cream cone," another observed. Some even suggested making salted egg yolk oc huong with their friends after seeing the medal design.

Besides its unique shape, the 2025 VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang medal has also been praised for its intricate details and symbolism. The rising form from the base of the medal symbolizes an upward journey, gradually encompassing Nha Trang's landmarks like the Tram Huong Tower and the Do Theater. This composition has received positive feedback from the community.

"So artistic and meaningful," commented Luong Hai Kim. "Unique," commented Ngo Chung Loi. "Very oceanic," another commented.

In addition to aesthetics, many runners said they are particularly interested in collecting medals from the VnExpress Marathon series. Some expressed regret at missing out on medals from previous races like Quy Nhon and Da Nang. Some also wondered why the Nha Trang medal doesn't have a moving part like recent versions.

The organizers explained that this year's design follows a minimalist style, omitting elaborate decorative details to focus on a condensed form and deeper meaning. The goal is to create a product that is easily recognizable and memorable while maintaining artistic value.

The 2025 VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang will take place on 24/8 and is expected to attract 13,000 athletes, with distances ranging from 5 km to 42 km. The race will follow a coastal route passing Tran Phu Bridge, Tram Huong Tower, and Luong Son Pass.

The event concludes the VnExpress Marathon's summer series, aimed at runners who enjoy combining travel and sports. Interested readers can find more information here.
