WWE star Brock Lesnar returns amid sex scandal

Brock Lesnar's return at SummerSlam 2025 shocked the wrestling world, as his name is still being mentioned in a lawsuit related to alleged human trafficking and sexual abuse at WWE.

SummerSlam 2025 took place over two nights, 2/8 and 3/8, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In the main event of the second night, Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in a street fight to win the WWE undisputed championship. As the crowd was still celebrating Rhodes' victory, Brock Lesnar suddenly appeared and delivered his signature F5 move to take down Cena.

The F5 involves Lesnar lifting his opponent onto his shoulders, then spinning and slamming them down to the mat, causing their head or upper body to hit the floor with significant force. It's not only an iconic move in Lesnar's career but also considered one of the most powerful moves in WWE, often used to finish matches or create turning points.

This was Lesnar's first appearance since SummerSlam 2023, following a long absence from media and WWE events.

Lesnar's comeback is controversial as his name was mentioned in a civil lawsuit filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee. The lawsuit accuses Vince McMahon and several other WWE executives of sexual abuse and human trafficking.

While not a primary defendant, Lesnar is mentioned as someone Vince McMahon "approached" by asking Grant to send him sensitive content as part of contract negotiations in 2021. Afterward, the two exchanged phone calls with content described as offensive. However, a meeting between them never took place.

WWE's decision to bring Lesnar back while the lawsuit is still pending raises questions about the organization's ethics. Some fans criticized WWE for ignoring the scandal, while others believe it's a publicity stunt to generate buzz.

Chief Content Officer Triple H stated that this was part of a plan to create a surprise for the show. He also emphasized that Lesnar's return was on John Cena's wish list for his farewell tour.

Vince McMahon is the former Chairman and CEO of WWE, the world's leading sports entertainment company. He transformed WWE from a small, local organization into a global brand. McMahon founded WrestleMania, created the sports entertainment model of wrestling, and helped launch the careers of superstars like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and John Cena.

However, McMahon's career has also been marked by controversy. He has been criticized for his authoritarian management style and harsh policies towards wrestlers. The lawsuit against McMahon shook the wrestling world and forced him to resign and withdraw from all WWE operations.
