On the morning of 27/8, a low-pressure area intensified into a tropical depression in the East Sea. The possibility of it strengthening into a typhoon remains unclear.
Typhoon Kajiki is forecast to bring not only strong winds over the sea and land but also heavy rainfall, posing a high risk of flash floods, landslides, and widespread flooding, according to expert Mai Van Khiem.
Entering the East Sea tonight, the tropical depression is forecast to intensify into a typhoon, moving quickly and impacting north central Vietnam early next week.
