The Sinh Dung traditional bakery, owned by Pham Duy Dung’s family and opened in 1972, has been bustling in preparation for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Artisan Nguyen Van Thanh crafts 200 lanterns daily, while Pham Van Quang has dedicated over 4 decades to preserving the traditional wooden mooncake mold craft, earning them the title of "Mid-Autumn Festival ambassadors".

Mooncakes in China have a history of over 3,000 years, dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Today, they come in various styles, with three types being the most popular.

Authorities confiscated almost 4,200 mooncakes of unknown origin from two warehouses in Truong Vinh ward. The mooncakes were packed in 475 cardboard boxes.

Dai Phat's new mooncake boxes feature diverse designs with various color palettes, incorporating motifs of lotuses, chrysanthemums, dragonflies, ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), and dragons and phoenixes.

Even though Mid-Autumn Festival is still weeks away, thousands of Capybara and Labubu-shaped mooncakes are being sought after by parents as gifts for their children, despite their high price.

Mooncakes shaped like the Vietnamese flag and the country's S-shaped map are proving popular this Mid-Autumn Festival, selling for 85,000-250,000 VND.
