Israel's prime minister has declared the country will use force to demilitarize the area south of Syria's capital and protect the Druze community there.

Syrian troops have begun withdrawing from Sweida, a Druze-majority city, following Israeli airstrikes.

The Israeli military launched airstrikes against tanks moving toward Sweida, Syria, to protect the Druze community and send a "clear warning" to the Syrian government.
