Divers have begun searching a lake south of the Philippine capital for the bodies of dozens of cockfighters believed to have been killed and dumped there by police.

The Philippines has requested technical assistance from Japan to help search for the bodies of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts believed to have been murdered and dumped in a lake.
