Alongside the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (A80), Hanoi hosted various events for tourists. Notable attractions included the "Sac Do Ba Dinh" program and a series of activities promoting Hanoi's tourism, culture, and history. The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh attracted over 1 million visitors in three days.
Other popular destinations also drew large crowds: Hanoi Zoo (33,000 visitors), the Temple of Literature (18,000 visitors), Ao Vua Tourist Area (over 2,000 visitors), and Ba Vi National Park (nearly 3,200 visitors). Hoa Lo Prison welcomed over 26,000 visitors, Co Loa Citadel 5,670, and the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long approximately 33,000.
City tours and historical tours experienced a surge in popularity, with many travel companies fully booked 1-2 months in advance. According to travel agencies, many tourists opted to travel early (from 27-28/8) to return in time for the parade on 2/9. Domestic tours accounted for 60% of total bookings at many agencies during this period.
Tourism experts and travel agency CEOs considered Hanoi's leading position in visitor numbers and revenue during the National Day holiday predictable. As the host city for the 80th-anniversary celebrations of the August Revolution and National Day (A80), Hanoi naturally attracted visitors nationwide, similar to Ho Chi Minh City during the Reunification Day holiday.
