While Hanoi may not be a widely recognized autumn destination for international tourists, Time Out recommends strolling around Hoan Kiem Lake to admire the characteristic red and gold leaves. Autumn in northern Vietnam also coincides with the harvest season and the Mid-Autumn Festival, offering a rich cultural experience. Besides sightseeing, visitors can immerse themselves in the festivities, enjoying traditional music, lion dances, and mooncakes filled with lotus seeds, salted egg yolks, and mung beans.
"As night falls, the streets glow with a myriad of lanterns, creating a magical and enchanting scene," Time Out describes.
The publication suggests October as the prime time to experience Hanoi's autumn.
