Hanoi's cultural events for National Day

From August 25th to 31st, Hanoi will host numerous events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of National Day (2/9), including an exhibition showcasing socio-economic achievements and the "Vietnam in My Heart" concert.

"Vietnam in My Heart" Concert

Time: 8 PM, 26/8

Location: Vietnam Exhibition Center, Dong Anh

Part of the 80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness exhibition, this concert features performances reflecting on the nation's 80-year journey. Artists scheduled to perform include Soobin Hoang Son, Hoa Minzy, Erik, Duc Phuc, Anh Tu, Quan AP, Duong Hoang Yen, and the band Chillies.

Parade Rehearsal

Time: 8 PM, 27/8

Location: Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route

This rehearsal will be similar in scale to the official parade, involving over 16,000 officials, soldiers, armed forces, and civilians. It will include 43 marching blocks, 18 stationary blocks, and 14 blocks of vehicles and modern equipment.

"80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" Socio-Economic Achievement Exhibition

Opening time: 8 AM, 28/8. The exhibition will run until 5/9.

Location: Vietnam Exhibition Center, Dong Anh

This exhibition showcases 80 years of national development, particularly the 40 years of Doi Moi (economic renovation). It features displays from various ministries, branches, localities, and businesses. The 260,000 m2 exhibition (indoor and outdoor) is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and is free to the public.

3D Mapping Light Show

Time: 29/8 and 30/8

Location: Several historical sites, Hoan Kiem Lake walking area, Turtle Tower, and surrounding areas

With the themes "Thang Long Convergence" and "Sounds of Hanoi," this program combines contemporary visual art with 3D mapping, music, and interactive performances to depict Hanoi's history, culture, and people.

Final Parade Rehearsal

Time: 6:30 AM, 30/8

Location: Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route

This final rehearsal mirrors the official parade with over 16,000 participants, 43 marching blocks, 18 stationary blocks, and 14 motorized blocks. A backup rehearsal date is scheduled for 31/8.

"80 Years - Proud Vietnam" Experiential Program

Time: 9 AM to 10 PM, from 31/8 to 2/9

Location: Hoan Kiem Lake walking area and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square

Three experiential stations will be set up around Hoan Kiem Lake: "Uncle Ho in the Nation's Heart", "Memories of Truong Son Road" (using modern technology), and "Continuing the Story of Peace".

"Hanoi - Forever Vietnam's Aspiration" Art Program

Time: 8 PM, 31/8

Location: Vietnam Exhibition Center, Dong Anh

This program combines music, dance, performances, and 3D mapping to depict the August Revolution and National Day (2/9/1945), as well as modern Hanoi. Performers include People's Artist Thu Huyen, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, singers Dong Hung, Anh Tu, Lam Bao Ngoc, saxophonist Hoang Tung, violinist Huyen Anh, pianist Trung Duc, and a choir of nearly 2,000 people.
