Highlights of the '80 years of independence' exhibition

The 900,000 m2 exhibition showcases large-scale artifacts related to national historical milestones, creating many interactive experiences, free for visitors for 9 days.

The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, held at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), runs from 28/8 to 5/9. This is the first large-scale exhibition held at this venue since its opening on 19/8.

"The exhibition space will paint a comprehensive and vibrant picture of the 80-year journey of national construction and development," a representative of the organizing committee said.

Historical artifacts from many periods

The entire exhibition area is divided into two areas: indoors and outdoors. Outdoors, visitors can see large-scale historical artifacts related to the country's development.

For example, the exhibition features the VN-C482 aircraft, a gift from the former Soviet Union government to President Ho Chi Minh. This aircraft served as a special plane carrying President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders during the resistance war against the US. There is also a model of Vietnam Railways' first Thong Nhat train on the North-South route after the country's reunification.

Representing the modern era, Vingroup presents VinFast's comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem. According to the company, this is a way to introduce to the public Vietnam's proud achievements across many fields.

Stepping inside the exhibition hall, visitors will encounter the image of the gold star red flag mounted on the 24,000-ton steel dome, 56 m high, becoming a check-in point for visitors on September 2nd.

200 units participating in the exhibition

The event showcases hundreds of booths, bringing together over 200 units, from Ministries, Departments, and Branches, 34 provinces and cities, and hundreds of businesses, almost all "national brands".

The indoor exhibition area is divided into 6 themes, closely linked to the country's development journey: Vietnam - Country - People; 95 Years of the Party Flag Lighting the Way; Creation and Development; Economic Locomotive; National Start-up; Prosperous Province, Strong Country.

The exhibition introduces the country's development achievements over 80 years in fields such as industry and technology; investment and trade; agriculture and rural development; security and national defense; foreign affairs; healthcare, education; culture, sports, and tourism. Each theme presents typical segments and stories associated with the nation's upward journey. Many relics and symbolic works of the three regions are recreated, inspiring love for the homeland and national pride.

The exhibition areas are accelerating completion, ready to welcome tens of thousands of visitors every day.

Multiple interactive virtual reality experiences

In addition to visiting and taking photos at the booths, visitors also have the opportunity to interact with many activities. The VR/AR virtual reality technology area takes everyone on a "cross-Vietnam" journey to discover relics of the three regions. Young people can also travel back in time to the nation's historical moments using technology.

Besides the booths, the organizers also display a reconstructed museum, an interactive space, along with various music, cultural, and culinary programs of the three regions.

"The activities offer a multi-sensory experience and take visitors on a journey of multi-layered emotions," a representative said.

At the exhibition, viewers can also experience firsthand many new technological achievements "made in Vietnam" - a source of national pride after 80 years of independence - such as the humanoid robot performance by VinMotion.

The National Exhibition Center is built on an area of 90 ha in Dong Anh, Hanoi. This is the largest exhibition project in Southeast Asia, invested by Vingroup Corporation, with a total capital of over 7,000 billion VND. The highlight of the center is the indoor exhibition complex shaped like the Golden Turtle God (Kim Quy), one of the four sacred animals in Eastern culture, associated with the legend of the Golden Turtle God protecting the Co Loa citadel. With its large scale and modern design, this place is expected to become a destination for leading political, economic, and cultural events in the region.
