The highlight of the celebrations is an art program titled "Forever the Color of Independence," scheduled for 8 p.m. on September 2 at the Hung Vuong street stage (Luong Van Tri ward, Lang Son). The 90-minute program, divided into three parts, will depict the nation's heroic history, inspire national pride and gratitude towards previous generations, and showcase the country's vitality and development in the era of integration. The program will feature artists, actors, and collaborators from the province's Ethnic Art Troupe, along with renowned folk and chamber music singers such as Quach Mai Thy and Nguyen Tuan Ngoc.
The program will conclude with a 15-minute display of low-level fireworks accompanied by sound and light.
Lang Son province has already organized various activities for residents and tourists. A thematic exhibition, "August Revolution, 1945 - A Great Turning Point of the Vietnamese Revolution in the 20th Century," is being held at the provincial museum from 15/8 to 15/9, showcasing historical photos, documents, and artifacts. Film screenings at the Dong Kinh cinema and by mobile cinema teams from 12/8 to 12/9 will feature the documentary "Success of the August Revolution - Birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam" and the feature film "Red Rain," produced by the People's Army Cinema.
Other activities include a book exhibition on the August Revolution and National Day at the provincial library (10/8-15/9); folk music exchanges featuring then, sli, and luong melodies on September 2 at the Hoang Van Thu Monument; and a propaganda poster exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day from 6/8 to 10/9.
According to Lang Son province's Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, this year's series of commemorative activities not only offers an opportunity to reflect on the nation's heroic revolutionary tradition but also promotes the image of a dynamic and integrated Lang Son, contributing to educating the younger generation about patriotism and the aspiration to build a prosperous country.
