Top 10 most relaxing cities in the world in 2025

San Diego, USA, has been unexpectedly crowned the world's most relaxing city, followed by Singapore, Vienna, Sydney, and Melbourne.

UK travel company Hofaly recently unveiled its list of the 10 most relaxing cities worldwide. The research aims to offer travelers inspiration for their upcoming trips. The study evaluated over 50 major tourist destinations globally, considering factors such as the number of spas, air quality, park area, green spaces, sunshine hours, happiness index, and traffic congestion.

San Diego, California, clinched the top spot, boasting over 220 parks and nature reserves, and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually. With a pleasant climate, beautiful beaches, and nearly 400 wellness centers, San Diego scored almost 69 out of 100. The city also enjoys a higher happiness index than other contenders, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking relaxation and tranquility.

Singapore, the Southeast Asian island nation, secured second place with over 240 parks, 698 wellness centers, and over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. Singapore achieved the highest happiness score on the list, reflecting its residents' quality of life.

Vienna, Austria, ranked third with 91 parks, 137 spas, and over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually. The city stands out for its clean air, considered among the best in Europe. Average commute times are just 21.5 minutes, the lowest on the list, minimizing the stress of traffic congestion for residents.

The remaining destinations include two Australian cities: Sydney (4th) and Melbourne (5th). Berlin, Germany, ranked 6th, while Auckland, New Zealand, came in 7th. Rounding out the top 10 are Portland, USA; Rome, Italy; and Helsinki, Finland.
