Vietnam Airlines' simulated Airbus A320/321 cockpit gives visitors the chance to experience takeoff and landing like a pilot at the 80th anniversary of national achievements exhibition.

Vietnam Airlines' 1,500 m2 exhibit, the largest among aviation companies, is located in the "Sky Aspirations" section of the National Achievements Exhibition themed "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness". With the message "Taking off with the nation," the space is designed as an experiential flight, recreating 30 years of development of Vietnam Airlines.

The exhibit highlights five milestones in the airline's growth: history and the aspiration to conquer the sky; ground services and green development efforts; in-flight services and flight crew; a modern fleet, digital transformation, simulation and virtual reality technology; and a global flight network.

At the ground equipment and refueling vehicle exhibit, visitors can learn about ground support equipment such as stair trucks, aircraft tugs, lifts, and SAF refueling vehicles. "This demonstrates the national airline’s comprehensive operational capabilities and commitment to sustainable development, and affirms Vietnam Airlines as the first airline in Vietnam to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)," said a representative. The entrance is designed like outstretched wings, symbolizing the nation's aspiration to soar. A 40 m2 LED screen displays documentary footage on the history of Vietnamese aviation, interspersed with promotional films showcasing Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, and other airlines.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh (center) visits the Vietnam Airlines aircraft engine exhibit. Two types of engines are on display: The D-30 engine from the Tupolev aircraft, associated with the early history of Vietnamese aviation, was produced in 1985 and retired in 1995.

The Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine from the Airbus A350 is among the most modern in the world and is currently used by Vietnam Airlines. This engine has a maximum thrust of 84,000 pound-force, is up to 25% more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, and has accumulated over 10 million safe flight hours. It significantly reduces emissions and noise, meeting the latest international environmental standards. Vietnam Airlines currently operates 31 Trent XWB engines, while over 1,250 are in operation worldwide.

The aircraft model display and stage area host daily interactive activities such as flight attendant uniform showcases from different eras, flight attendant experience simulations, and games, creating an engaging atmosphere for visitors.

The final stop is a historical wall chronicling Vietnam Airlines' journey from its beginnings to the present. Vietnamese aviation originated from the revolutionary air force, linked to Air Regiment 919.

Outside the Vietnam Airlines pavilion is an IL-14 aircraft, a special plane that carried President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders during the war against the US.

The "National Achievements: 80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, featuring 230 booths and spanning nearly 260,000 m2, showcases products and images representing the achievements of 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries and sectors, and prominent private and state-owned enterprises. The event runs from 28/8 - 5/9 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi).
