The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported that early Tuesday morning, Russia launched a total of 85 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including suicide drones and decoys, along with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, at Ukraine. "Air defense units shot down or jammed 61 UAVs, while the missile and 24 drones hit 12 locations," the command stated.
Ukrainian officials did not disclose any casualties or damage from the attack.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on this information but stated that its air defense units intercepted 29 Ukrainian suicide drones during the same period. "10 drones were downed in Rostov province, while the remainder were shot down in Stavropol, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Krasnodar, and over the Sea of Azov," the Russian military said.
Denis Pushilin, the Russian-appointed leader of Donetsk province, accused Ukrainian forces of shelling several apartment buildings in Donetsk province a few hours before the summit, killing at least one woman and injuring three others. Two apartment buildings and a school were also damaged.

US President Donald Trump and his counterpart Vladimir Putin met for a three-hour summit on 15/8, followed by an 11-minute joint press conference. Mr. Putin announced that he had reached a consensus with Mr. Trump and expressed hope that Ukraine and Europe would not hinder the process of ending the conflict.
The Kremlin leader proposed holding the next conference in Moscow, and President Trump said this was possible.
Mr. Trump assessed that Washington and Moscow had made significant progress but had not reached any agreement. In an interview after the summit, Mr. Trump suggested that the Ukraine conflict would end with territorial concessions and security guarantees from the US. He also mentioned that a trilateral meeting between himself, President Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was being arranged.
However, Yuri Ushakov, Mr. Putin's foreign policy advisor, later stated that the issue of a trilateral summit had not been discussed, and he did not know when the two presidents would meet again.
