The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported detecting an unidentified drone in the early hours of 29/7. "Due to electronic warfare measures, the drone crashed near building number 72 on Matusyevicha Street in Minsk at 2:33 a.m. There were no casualties," the ministry stated.
The Belarusian Investigative Committee later reported that debris from the drone damaged several parked cars. Authorities recovered parts of the fuselage, wings, engine, and guidance system, along with a warhead containing TNT and metal pellets designed to increase its destructive power.
Images released by the Belarusian Investigative Committee show what appears to be Ukrainian warning text on some of the components.
Belarusian authorities did not specify the drone's country of origin, adding that more information would be released during the investigation. Minsk is implementing measures to enhance airspace control, and President Alexander Lukashenko is monitoring the situation.
This is the first time Belarus has reported intercepting a drone over Minsk since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, although some drones have previously entered Belarusian airspace and been shot down near the border.

Belarus is a close ally of Russia and allowed Russia to use its territory to launch the attack on Ukraine, as well as providing other forms of support. This incident occurs amid ongoing long-range strikes deep into each other's territory by both Russia and Ukraine.
Neither Russian nor Ukrainian officials have commented on the incident.
