Chilean authorities announced on 29/7 that they had handed over items recovered during an April police raid to representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The announcement coincided with US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's visit to Chile to discuss transnational crime.
Chilean police officer Marcelo Varas said the six watches belonging to Canadian actor Keanu Reeves, including a Rolex engraved with his name, were worth a total of $125,000 and were handed over during the event.

The FBI will arrange to return the watches to Reeves, known for his roles in action films like "The Matrix" and "John Wick". Reeves confirmed these were the watches stolen from his Los Angeles home during a series of burglaries in December 2023.
Police discovered the watches during raids on several homes in Santiago, Chile's capital, along with stolen cars, iPhones, and designer handbags.
Chile has also collaborated with the FBI in investigating a string of burglaries targeting multimillion-dollar residences in the US, including those of celebrities and professional athletes like Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce. These burglaries are believed to be the work of South American crime groups.
Chilean police arrested 23 people in connection with these break-ins in April. Varas stated that authorities are investigating potential links between the Reeves watch theft and other cases.
Secretary Noem was also the victim of a robbery allegedly committed by a Chilean citizen residing illegally in the US. Her wallet was stolen from a Washington restaurant in April.
