US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand on 26/7. Both countries subsequently expressed their willingness to cease fire and negotiate to end the conflict. However, both armies accused each other of continuing attacks this morning.

Meanwhile, Thailand has evacuated over 170,000 people from four border provinces: Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, and Buri Ram.

The Thai Ministry of Interior announced that evacuees were taken to 295 safe locations, away from the conflict zone.
In Si Sa Ket Province alone, local authorities have set up 149 shelters with a total capacity of 93,500 people.

The evacuation plan is being carried out by village chiefs and security volunteers, using government-provided vehicles.
The Thai army has prohibited all evacuees from returning home until further notice. Security forces and police have been deployed to protect the property left behind.

"We are used to hardship, but we have never experienced anything like this," said In Chanthathep, 72, taking refuge at the Si Sa Ket center.

Evacuees on both the Thai and Cambodian sides describe those across the border as "brothers" and "friends," calling for the restoration of peace.
"Our relationship was very good before, we were like brothers," said Sai Boonrod, 56, sheltering at a temple in the Thai town of Kanthararom. "I just want the fighting to end so we can be like brothers again."
Across the border, 150 km away from Sai, a 50-year-old sheltering at Phumi Bak Thkav Temple said, "We are neighbors, we want to be friends."
