Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy advisor to the Russian president, announced that the summit between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on 15/8 (2:30 a.m. Hanoi time on 16/8) in Alaska.
The meeting will take place at a facility within Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city.
According to Ushakov, the two leaders will meet one-on-one, accompanied only by interpreters. The meeting will focus on Ukraine, with Putin and Trump also discussing security and international matters. A joint press conference will follow to summarize the meeting's outcomes.
"The leaders plan to exchange views on further developing bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic ties. This cooperation has significant potential, which unfortunately has not yet been fully realized," Ushakov said.

The two delegations will then hold talks and participate in a working breakfast. The Russian delegation is expected to include Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president's special representative for investment and economic cooperation.
Ushakov added that the Kremlin hopes the next summit will take place in Russia.
The White House has not yet commented. CNN previously quoted a US official stating the meeting location as Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage.
President Putin met with senior Russian officials today to discuss developments related to peace negotiations aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine. He stated that the US is making "sincere efforts" to resolve the Ukraine issue, and believes Moscow and Washington can reach an agreement on nuclear arms control.
President Trump previously said he intends to explore Putin's limits for peace, followed by calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders immediately after the meeting. If the US-Russia summit goes well, Trump wants the two leaders to continue with a trilateral summit with President Zelensky.
