"I'm disappointed in President Putin, very disappointed. Therefore, we have to reassess, and I'm shortening the 50-day period I gave him," US President Donald Trump told reporters during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Turnberry, Scotland, on 28/7.
Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin now has only about 10 or 12 days to resolve the conflict with Ukraine. The US president said there's "no reason to wait," adding that he hasn't seen any progress in the Russia-Ukraine peace negotiation efforts over the past two weeks.
Russia has not yet commented on Trump's statement.

On 14/7, President Trump issued a 50-day ultimatum for Russia to accept an agreement to end the conflict with Ukraine or face severe tariffs and sanctions. Trump said at the time that the 50-day deadline was "not too long" and sufficient to resolve the conflict. This 50-day ultimatum had about 36 days remaining.
Russia and Ukraine held their third round of talks last week in Turkey but failed to reach any agreement on ceasefire terms or the possibility of a direct meeting between their leaders.
Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov said their "number one priority is to arrange a meeting between the leaders, between the presidents of the two countries." However, Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky argued that the purpose of such a summit should be to sign an agreement, not to "discuss everything from scratch."
