"I had very successful meetings with President Vladimir Putin, and also with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy afterward. Now, I think it would be better if they met without me. I want to see what happens," former US President Donald Trump said in an interview with The Mark Levin Show on 19/8.
Trump added that the Russian and Ukrainian leaders have a "very bad" relationship and he wants to see how they would interact. After the two leaders reach an agreement, he would join a trilateral meeting to "finalize the deal."
"I'll go in if necessary, and I can probably get it done," he said.

In an earlier interview with Fox & Friends, Trump said he was arranging a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy and might hold a trilateral summit "if things go well."
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, responding to reporters' questions on 19/8 about the prospects of a Russia-Ukraine summit, confirmed that President Putin "has promised" to meet with his counterpart Zelenskyy in the coming weeks.
However, the Kremlin has not confirmed this information, saying only that it might consider upgrading the delegation for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Analysts believe Putin would not agree to meet Zelenskyy unless Ukraine is ready to accept Russia's demands for territorial concessions, abandoning its NATO ambitions, and demilitarization and denazification.
