Former US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire on July 28th on Truth Social, stating, "I spoke with the acting prime minister of Thailand and the prime minister of Cambodia. I am pleased to announce that after my intervention, both countries have agreed to a ceasefire and peace. Congratulations to all." He previously warned of potential trade repercussions if the conflict continued, saying, "We deal with trade. I said, 'I don't want to do business with people that are fighting each other'."
Senator Marco Rubio acknowledged the US's involvement in the Malaysian-led peace process, thanking Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and expressing hope for full commitment from both Cambodia and Thailand. He added, "Washington will continue to accompany and be deeply involved in the process co-hosted by the US and Malaysia to end this conflict."

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas praised the ceasefire as a "major breakthrough" on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing the importance of good faith implementation by both nations.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the ceasefire as a positive step, urging respect for the agreement and the creation of an environment conducive to resolving outstanding issues and achieving lasting peace. He affirmed the UN's readiness to support peace and stability efforts in the region.
The unconditional ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand took effect on the night of 28/7. A meeting of the two countries' border committee is scheduled for 4/8.
Fighting erupted near the Ta Moan Thom temple on the morning of 24/7 and spread along the border. Thailand reported 8 soldiers and 14 civilians killed, while Cambodia reported 5 soldiers and 8 civilians dead. Thailand returned the bodies of 12 Cambodian soldiers on the afternoon of 27/7.
