On 11/8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "Today, military intelligence reported to me on what the Russian leadership expects and what they are actually preparing, especially military activities. They are clearly not preparing for a ceasefire and an end to the conflict,".
President Zelensky added that Russia is deploying troops in preparation for new operations within Ukrainian territory, but did not specify details. The Ukrainian leader affirmed there are no signs that Russian forces have received any signal to prepare for a post-war phase.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Command of the Ukrainian army, also stated on the same day that Russia is moving several units in Zaporizhzhia province in preparation for new attacks.
This statement from Kyiv comes before the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska on 15/8 to discuss the possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian leader warned against concessions to Russian demands, emphasizing this would not stop Moscow's military actions. Media reports suggest Kyiv is concerned that the Russian and American leaders might reach an agreement requiring Ukraine to cede territory in exchange for peace.
