Through its subsidiary specializing in information technology services for overseas markets, FPT signed an agreement with a branch of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (PQPOC), to develop a set of technology solutions for oil and gas exploration and production activities. This agreement marks a new milestone for FPT in the digital transformation of Vietnam's energy sector.
PQPOC operates the Block B Gas Field Development Project, part of the Block B - O Mon Gas-to-Power project chain, a key national energy initiative. Under the agreement, FPT will collaborate with PQPOC to consult and build a digital transformation ecosystem comprising specialized applications tailored to PQPOC's needs for well management, perforation, reservoir management, intervention planning, and well operation. This solution set is expected to be implemented by the end of this year and used throughout the project's field development process.
FPT will design and develop three applications for exploration and production (E&P) activities: PQCR (Phu Quoc Completion Review), PQRS (Phu Quoc Reserves System), and PQDPS (Phu Quoc Development Planning System). These will be built on an "AI-First" approach, leveraging FPT's experience in large-scale project implementation and its team of domestic and international database and petroleum experts.
These applications focus on completion evaluation, reserves data management, and development planning. The solution set utilizes a centralized data platform, deployed in a private cloud environment, and connects with PQPOC's existing data infrastructure.
Given the complex operating conditions of the Block B Gas Field Development Project, FPT's expert team will consult and design the applications and system architecture to optimize PQPOC's specific operational processes. Both entities anticipate the solution will help PQPOC synchronize data from various sources, standardize reporting, reduce information processing time, improve coordination among specialized departments, and gradually build data-driven decision-making capabilities, thereby optimizing overall exploration and production activities.

Nguyen Hoang Trung, Chief Financial Officer of FPT Software, FPT Group, affirmed FPT's commitment to mobilizing maximum resources: its international expert team, technological capabilities, and global accumulated experience.
"We will accompany our client throughout the collaboration process and create sustainable value, contributing to the digital transformation of Vietnam's energy sector," he added.
Assessing the project's importance, Le Tran Minh Tri, Deputy General Director of PQPOC, also emphasized that this collaboration is one of the company's most important digital transformation projects. It will optimize well management and field development throughout the project's more than 20-year lifespan, paving the way for a long-term partnership with FPT in applying AI/Cloud and future initiatives. By promoting the deployment of strategic technology products like digital twins and artificial intelligence (AI), FPT aims to assert its mastery of core technology, contributing to the digital transformation of Vietnam's energy sector and reinforcing the goal of ensuring national technological sovereignty.
