According to VinFast's financial report, the company's record revenue last year primarily came from vehicle sales. It delivered nearly 197,000 electric oto, double the previous year's figure, meeting its target.
These results established VinFast as Vietnam's leading automaker, capturing about 36% of the domestic market, up from 22% in 2024. Sales of electric motorcycles and e-bikes also surged by 473% to nearly 406,500 units.
Despite rising sales, the company, led by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, reported a net loss of over 97,000 billion VND, equivalent to 3.9 billion USD. This loss was higher than the nearly 77,300 billion VND recorded in the same period last year.
In 2023, Pham Nhat Vuong, General Director of VinFast, stated that the automaker anticipated losses for several years, a planned part of the management's strategy. He affirmed his commitment, vowing to "never give up on VinFast" and to continue investing as long as he had capital.

As of 31/12/2025, VinFast's total assets reached 181,750 billion VND, a 16.5% increase year-on-year. The company's accumulated losses at year-end totaled nearly 171,600 billion VND, resulting in negative equity exceeding 90,000 billion VND.
Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong founded VinFast in 2017. Four years later, the company fully transitioned to electric vehicle production, discontinuing its gasoline-powered oto segment. It plans to sell hybrid vehicles starting this year.
By the end of last year, VinFast operated four factories in Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, with a maximum capacity of approximately 600,000 electric vehicles annually. Its two production facilities in Vietnam contributed about 83% of this output.
This year, VinFast plans to expand its production capacity in Vietnam and implement further development phases in India and Indonesia, establishing these factories as new export hubs. The company will also continue construction of its North Carolina manufacturing plant in 2026, with a planned start of production (SOP) in 2028.
