The "Act for Blue Skies" campaign launched on 10/9, coinciding with International Day of Clean Air for blue skies (7/9) and the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer (16/9). A series of activities are being rolled out across Vingroup's member and affiliated companies.

The campaign began with a seminar titled "Joining Hands to Protect Blue Skies - Challenges and Solutions," bringing together local and international experts. Discussions focused on analyzing the current state of air pollution in Vietnam and proposing sustainable solutions.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), traffic is a major source of air pollution, along with emissions from industry, agriculture, and residential activities.
Dr. Hoang Duong Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Air Partnership (SVCAP), stated that air pollution is the 4th leading cause of premature death in Vietnam, linked to various cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. In 2023 alone, the PM2.5 fine dust concentration in Hanoi was nearly 6 times higher than the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended limit, with only one day reaching the average level and no days rated as "good."
"There is no single or immediate solution to air pollution. It requires the unity and perseverance of the entire society," Tung said.

Faced with this challenge, Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Green Future Fund, explained that the campaign aims to change community behavior through four pillars: community engagement, green consumption, green knowledge, and energy saving and emission reduction.
Regarding community engagement, VinFast is launching an electricity-saving movement across its dealer and service center network; Vinhomes is organizing "Green Saturdays" in over 30 urban areas with activities like exchanging trash for gifts, waste sorting, and creating green living spaces; Vinpearl is implementing environmental education programs for children; and Xanh SM is hosting a "Go Green - Live Green" video contest.
In the area of consumption, Vincom is launching the "Vincom Acts for Blue Skies" event at 88 shopping malls, collaborating with WinMart, The Body Shop, and others to offer green promotions. Xanh SM is providing discount codes for electric vehicle users, and Vinpearl is rewarding guests who use green transportation.
In education and healthcare, VinUni is organizing a seminar on green transformation in the AI era; Vinmec is implementing a "Environment and Respiratory Allergies" week with free allergen testing; and Vinpearl is offering "Green Living" classes for children, incorporating tree planting and ecological exploration.
For energy saving and emission reduction, Vincom has committed to turning off air conditioners 15 minutes early each day for blue skies; Vinpearl is prioritizing recycled materials and reducing waste; Xanh SM is launching a global emission reduction race; and Green Future is organizing a "Green Day - Trade Your Gas Car for a Green One" event.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho believes that if implemented effectively, the Vingroup ecosystem can play a leading role in Vietnam's green transition.
"With the comprehensive participation of the Vingroup ecosystem and the community, this campaign will contribute to protecting the atmosphere—the foundation of life—and building a sustainable future for the next generation," Dr. Le Thai Ha said.

"Act for Blue Skies" continues a series of environmental activities previously undertaken by Vingroup, such as "Green Wednesday," "Act for Blue Oceans," and "Green Summer." These programs have attracted millions of residents, customers, and partners, contributing to the spread of eco-friendly lifestyles nationwide.
