On 17/1, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) announced the results of an employment and income survey conducted among nearly 5,000 students who graduated in 2025. Nearly 4,450 students provided information, a response rate of 90%.
The survey revealed that 72% of these graduates reported a monthly income exceeding 9 million VND. This marks the first time the university has publicly released an income survey for its new graduates, without offering an evaluation. Such detailed information is rarely shared by universities across the nation.
Furthermore, 69% of the surveyed students secured employment before receiving their degrees, while 12% found jobs within one month of graduation. Only about 2% of students took more than six months to find employment. Overall, the employment rate reached 97% within one year of graduation.
The university attributes these positive outcomes to its long-standing commitment to practical, experience-based training. Students engage in learning through real-world situations, projects, and problems. Experts, managers, and entrepreneurs are invited to teach and provide critical feedback. Additionally, UEH has expanded its practical semesters and internship programs, helping students transition smoothly from academia to the labor market.
Statistics indicate that 52% of graduates found jobs directly related to their major. When considering jobs relevant to their field of study, this figure rises to 90%, an increase of 11.5% compared to the 2024 graduating class.
Regarding employment structure, 63% of UEH graduates entered the private economic sector, and 30% secured positions in foreign-invested enterprises. The proportion working in the State sector remained low, at only 5%.
A university representative noted that the 30% employment rate in foreign-invested enterprises highlights the graduates' integration capabilities, reflecting the university's internationalization strategy and the success of its expanded part-time and full-time English language programs.
UEH is one of the 13 universities in Vietnam, educating nearly 34,000 students. It has its main campus in Ho Chi Minh City and two branches in Vinh Long and Nha Trang. According to the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is ranked 318th.
Last year, the university's admission scores for programs in the Ho Chi Minh City area ranged from 22.8 to 27.7.
