Actress stars in 100 million USD blockbuster alongside Ngo Kinh

Chinese actress Tran Le Quan gains attention starring in a wuxia film with Ngo Kinh and Ly Lien Kiet.

Tran Le Quan, 34, plays the female lead A Yu A in the wuxia film "The Deliverer: Rise of the Great Desert", directed by Yuan Heping, with Ngo Kinh as producer and lead actor.

Chinese actress Tran Le Quan is capturing significant attention for her leading role in the upcoming wuxia blockbuster, "The Deliverer: Rise of the Great Desert". The film, a 100 million USD production, is directed by Yuan Heping and stars Ngo Kinh, who also serves as its producer. Set for release in Chinese cinemas during Lunar New Year 2026, the movie is generating buzz, especially with Ly Lien Kiet mentioned in connection with the project.

Tens of thousands of viewers have praised Tran Le Quan's portrayal, noting her suitable appearance and demeanor for the wuxia genre. The film is an adaptation of artist Xu Xian Zhi's comic series "The Deliverer", set in the late Sui Dynasty. It centers on the work of "deliverers", ancient warriors hired to protect and escort important figures. The main character, Dao Ma (played by Ngo Kinh), operates primarily in the desert, where he accepts a mission to escort a client to the capital while fleeing imperial pursuit, only to be ambushed.

Filmed in Xinjiang, the production emphasizes practical martial arts and grand battle scenes across the desert landscapes. According to Mtime, the film crew aims to usher in a new era for Chinese wuxia films. The movie received a substantial investment of over 700 million CNY (98.3 million USD).

Tran Le Quan joined the project as a replacement for actress Nashi, who withdrew due to an academic fraud scandal.
