Trinh Mai Nguyen received the appointment decision from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented by Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong. The term lasts five years. Prior to this, he served as head of the Contemporary Drama Department at the Vietnam National Drama Theater since 2019.

Born in Thanh Hoa, Trinh Mai Nguyen, 51 years old, has dedicated over 30 years to acting. Throughout his career, he has portrayed General Vo Nguyen Giap three times. In 2002, he was cast as General Giap in the film Leclerc (Indochina Snow), directed by Marco Pico.
One year later, he again embodied the general in a revolutionary play during the 350th anniversary celebration of Khanh Hoa. In 2010, writer Nguyen Quang Vinh invited him to join the project "General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Dien Bien Symphony."
On the stage, his notable performances include plays such as Nghieu So Oc Hen, Kieu, Lau Dai Cat, Lao Ha Tien, Chuyen Chang Dung Si, Hamlet, and The Su. He has also appeared in several television dramas, including Bi Mat Eva, Huong Vi Tinh Than, and Dau Tri.

Trinh Mai Nguyen has received several awards, including a silver medal at the 2012 National Professional Drama Festival, a silver medal at the Luu Quang Vu Drama Festival, and a gold medal at the 2015 National Professional Drama Art Competition. In 2019, he was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
