Donegan's crowning moment took place on the evening of 7/9 in Orlando, Florida.

The final two rounds of the competition occurred last weekend at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando. Donegan, representing New York, triumphed over 52 contestants from 50 states. The 2025 Miss America, Abbie Stockard, crowned her successor.

In a press release on 8/9, Donegan stated, "Miss America has long been a powerful platform for women to turn their dreams into reality. I am honored to represent an organization that provides scholarships, resources, and a platform for women to showcase their leadership.".

Donegan is a singer, actress, and CEO of a childcare services company. She is also a member of the Actor's Equity Association. A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville with a bachelor's degree in musical theatre, she has extensive professional performing experience.

In addition to the crown, sash, and title, Donegan received a $70,000 scholarship. She plans to use the funds to pursue a master's degree.

She won the talent competition with her performance of "A Darker Shade of Blue" from the musical *Some Like It Hot*, earning a $3,000 prize. Many audience members expressed surprise at her vocal prowess, considering it one of the most impressive talent performances in the competition's history.

During the question-and-answer segment, contestants responded to prompts on stage. Donegan's topic centered on "authentic self-expression" in relation to "professional standards".

She said, "I believe being 100% true to yourself is the most important thing you can do. If that includes expressing yourself through earrings or tattoos, go for it 100%. I don't think anyone has the right to tell you what you can do with your body. Walk forward with confidence.".

In July, she won the Miss New York competition, earning the right to represent the state at Miss America.

According to *Parade*, Donegan is passionate about arts education for youth, having worked as a stage director and organized workshops for children. She has also established several scholarships for children. Her initiative, Promoting Arts Education in Our School Systems, was a key focus at the competition.

Since winning Miss New York, Donegan has been actively involved in various events. As the national brand ambassador for the Miss America Organization, she will be making appearances both domestically and internationally.

She typically favors a modest, elegant style. Her social media features glimpses into her everyday life, artistic photoshoots, and singing career. Donegan currently has over 20,000 Instagram followers.

The Miss America competition has been held annually since 1921. The winner receives a scholarship along with the crown, sash, and title. In recent years, the competition has been overshadowed by Miss USA (established in 1952), which has greater financial resources and often sends its winners to compete in Miss Universe.
