The incident occurred during her performance as part of the opening acts at the Lan Song Xanh awards ceremony on 30/1. After the first chorus, Duyen Quynh released her microphone and swayed to the instrumental break. However, the next vocal segment began immediately, causing her to return the microphone to its position slowly, even as her voice continued.
The video capturing Duyen Quynh's mishap quickly circulated on social media, prompting varied reactions. Most viewers expressed that her lip-syncing to her own song was unacceptable. Others suggested that at many major events, singers often do not perform entirely live or use backing tracks to ensure event quality, though this requires skillful execution.
Duyen Quynh expressed "regret over the incident" but did not offer further comments. In a post celebrating her Lan Song Xanh award alongside Nguyen Van Chung, Tung Duong, and Vo Ha Tram, when a fan advised her to "be less expressive" for a complete performance, the singer responded, "I will learn from this experience." The Lan Song Xanh awards organizers have not yet responded.

"Viet Tiep Cau Chuyen Hoa Binh" gained popularity during the month commemorating 50 years of national reunification (30/4/1975-30/4/2025), contributing to Duyen Quynh's wider recognition. This song is the title track of her album, produced in collaboration with musician Nguyen Van Chung in late 2023, celebrating 79 years of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army (22/12/1944-22/12/2023).
Beyond Duyen Quynh, many other singers, including Vo Ha Tram and Tung Duong, have successfully performed the work. At the Lan Song Xanh awards gala 2025, this composition received a special award. Previously, the song was also honored as the special song of the year at the Vietnam iContent Awards 2025.
Duyen Quynh, 36, from Dak Lak, graduated from the vocal department, Nhac vien TP HCM in 2015. After graduating, she worked for the Nha hat giao huong nhac vu kich TP HCM (HBSO).
