Having settled in the US for eight years, Han Thai Tu maintains the habit of cooking dishes from home to ease his homesickness. He also converted a corner of his 1,500 m2 land into a vegetable garden to supply family meals.
Whenever he misses his homeland, the singer often prepares specific meals, including braised tuna with pineapple. To preserve the authentic Central Vietnamese flavor, he seeks out Da Nang-style green xiem chili. His secret to eliminating fishiness is to blanch the fish in boiling water before cooking. The entire preparation process takes about 15 minutes, served with vegetables he harvests from his garden.
For Han Thai Tu, this meal not only soothes homesickness abroad but also evokes cherished memories of touring Central Vietnam, where the audience gave him a warm welcome.
