On the evening of 29/1, Hoa Minzy achieved significant success at the Mai Vang 2025 awards gala in TP HCM, securing three trophies: favorite female singer, music video of the year for Bac Bling, and artist for the community.

During her acceptance of the favorite female singer award, Hoa Minzy invited her parents onto the stage. Instead of giving a speech, the singer requested permission from the organizers and co-recipient Soobin to use the moment to celebrate with her family. Hoa Minzy shared that after twelve years of pursuing her singing career, it was the first time her parents had directly witnessed their daughter being honored.

Hoa Minzy's action, however, drew criticism from some viewers who felt she was "hogging the spotlight". Following the gala, she clarified that her intention was not to create a spectacle, but simply to preserve a special family moment after her long journey in the entertainment industry.

Thanh Liem, a program representative, acknowledged that the situation was unplanned but ultimately a highlight of the event. The organizers viewed the singer's decision to invite her parents, who traveled from Bac Ninh to TP HCM for the event, onto the stage as a humane gesture, embodying the tradition of "uong nuoc nho nguon" (remembering one's roots). Perceiving that the incident did not consume excessive time or negatively impact the broadcast, the organizers approved. "We had a plan to ensure the event still ran smoothly during the live broadcast", he stated.

Hoa Minzy attributes much of her current success to her family. When she moved south to establish her career and later had her first child, her family provided extensive support. Her parents helped care for her baby when she had performances. During challenging times in her personal life, including a breakup, her family offered crucial emotional encouragement.

"I want to thank my parents for always accompanying me, allowing me to be confident on the path to conquering my dream. I will strive and mature to make my parents prouder", the singer said.

Born into a farming family in Bac Ninh, Hoa Minzy is the fourth of five children. After achieving fame, she showed her gratitude by renovating her family home in her hometown, improving their living conditions. Her greatest wish now, according to the singer, is for her parents to remain healthy and enjoy a happy life with their children and grandchildren.

Hoa Minzy is currently preparing for her first career concert, scheduled for 1/2 in TP HCM. Her parents and many relatives will attend to celebrate with her.

The year 2025 was a significant one for Hoa Minzy, marked by numerous accomplishments. Her music video, Bac Bling, became a sensation, accumulating nearly 300 million views on YouTube. The song earned the inspired music award at the Vietnam iContent 2025 awards and also garnered Hoa Minzy nominations for other accolades, including Lan Song Xanh and Tinh hoa Viet.

Hoa Minzy is also recognized for her active involvement in charitable and community activities. She has supported people affected by natural disasters and floods with billions of VND, and has personally visited disadvantaged areas to provide assistance.

Hoa Minzy, 31, whose real name is Nguyen Thi Hoa, won the first prize in the Star Academy program in 2014. After the competition, she embarked on a professional singing career, releasing hits such as Roi bo (Vu Huy Hoang), Khong the cung nhau suot kiep (Mr Siro), Bat tinh yeu len (Tang Duy Tan), and Noi dau giua hoa binh (Nguyen Van Chung).
